Quarticello is a small family farm located in central Italy’s Emilia Romagna region, world-famous for Lambrusco, prosciutto di Parma and countless other delicacies, which gives light to natural wines of rare sincerity, unbridled vitality, and just sheer deliciousness. Located in the foothills of the “Appennino Tosco-Emiliano” mountains, the farm rests on the bed of the Enza mountain stream, on unique soils characterized by sand, silt, loam, and gravel. It is the passion project of vigneron Roberto.
Roberto acquired a few tiny parcels in 2001 and began compounding his studies in agronomy and winemaking with several experiences and hard work in local natural wineries, bottling his very first vintage in 2006. His vision is clear and uncompromising: natural and super-traditional work in the vineyard and the cellar, with the organic certification being awarded in 2015, and a strong focus on ancient local varieties.
Lambrusco is of course king here, and Roberto distills its very soul and is able to let the distinct personality of each Lambrusco variety shine through, such as Maestri, Salamino, and Grasparossa. Last but not least the white varieties Spergola, rich in luscious fruit and sharp acidity, and Malvasia Aromatica di Candia, exploding with universes of lavender, tangerine, and marzipan.
