Longer maceration on the skins than Attia Nerello Mascalese, bottled unfined, and unfiltered. Bright red fruit, firm tannins, medium-bodied wine perfect with grilled meat.

Etnella

Davide Bentivegna from Etnella used to be a businessman in London. He then moved to Sicily, near Mount Etna, where he works 10 hectares of vineyards planted predominantly with Nerello Mascalese. Etnella is an organic farm and vines are untrellised - so-called 'alberello' or bush vines. The soil is volcanic with some basalt.
